Focused, richly fruity, full of savory and floral spice, and as impressive for it's elegant harmony as for it's generosity, this is a beautiful wine. The nose opens as a perfume of sweet red cherry, sour dark cherry, blueberry, violet, mace, cedar, star anise, clove and peppercorn scents. It proves as richly flavored, supple and elegant as expected on the palate, where polished tannins never intrude on the flavors: a focused mirror of the aromas. The finish is sleek and lingering and perfectly food-balanced, and the wine ends with a big push of sour sherry, red currant, raspberry and fig. If delicious now, it should be more so in a year or two. 48 6-packs produced.
