This Syrah accented Cabernet blend offers forthcoming scents of cranberry sauce, pomegranate molasses, dark cherry, toasted oak and dried herbs, with undercurrents of hazelnut and tobacco leaf. It proves both rich and attractively supple on the palate, with no rough edges. The flavors are generous and well defined, as notes of star anise and licorice root join pomegranate molasses and ripe cherry at center stage. The finish is extremely long and this blend seems an ideal one for service with hearty meat stews and ragouts. The wine should grow ever better over the next eighteen months.
