The nose is a juicy ripe mix of black currant, blueberry, cassis and vanilla with an undercurrent of sweet pipe tobacco. It is plump, forthcoming and fairly juicy on the palate, where blueberry, dark cherry, cassis, coffee toffee and licorice flavors create a lingering melange that nicely eclipses any impression of aggressive tannin.
