2021 Trujillo Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

This is a surprisingly well-priced Cabernet that offers youthful, focused aromas of red currant jam, dark red cherry, cranberry sauce, cedar, clove, sweet dark tobacco and hazelnut. It is as flavorful and well delineated if a bit more obviously gutsy on the palate, showing plenty of red fruit and oaky spice and impressive grip and length. It is already a fine dinner wine, with lots of licorice, red currant and cherry in the finish. It wants three or more years in the cellar to show all it has, but shows classic Oakville personality and will be worth that wait.
