This is a young, ripe, and gutsy Cabernet that deserves a bit of airing to show at its best. It proves zesty and somewhat gripping at opening, delivering aromas and flavors that are a medley of blackberry, blueberry, black currant, star anise, sweet tobacco, sandalwood, and mace. The texture is as youthfully firm as expected, and the focused fruit is attractively long. The whole package will seem grander and richer when served with Prime Rib or another juicy meat entrée. It should easily improve for eighteen to twenty-four months.
