If complex, wonderfully elegant and focused from the start, this terrific Pinot Noir shows plenty of youthfully piquancy, grip, minerality and overall tension as well. The nose offers gorgeous aromas of boysenberry, blueberry, violet, lingonberry, pomegranate, coriander seed, star anise and sandalwood poised above a spine of saline minerality: all the elements unfolding in lovely harmony and with chiseled clarity. It is tense, gripping and piquantly fruity in the mouth, where boysenberry and whortleberry take center stage and all the promised line up in lock-step and the finish lingers brilliantly.
