Young, gutsy, boldly Howell Mountain in fruit and minerality, with a nose of dark cherry, red cherry pie, red licorice, iron ore, crushed rock, caramel, baking spice and vague suggestions of dried herbs. On the palate, it is at once lean, concentrated, strongly mineral and full of highly-polished tannins and young HM fruit. Super long and maybe 10 years from its full expression. Cherry, crushed rocks and licorice root at the end. Truly brilliant some day but will need time. 230 cases produced.
