Rich, notably harmonious and more so as it airs, this very satisfying and dinner worthy old vine Zinfandel is a complex melding of dark cherry, red plum, mulling spice, star anise, peppery broth and toffee scents. It is fruit-centric on the palate and grows ever more so as it airs, delivering lots of cherry and anise at the finish, with a splendid texture and impressive length. Although it already offers mature flavor development it may grow even finer with another year of cellaring. 420 cases produced.
