Rich in fruit intensity and packed with savory spice, this is an impressive Pinot from the first sip. The nose fans out scents of red raspberry, sweet picked crab apple, lingonberry, coriander seed, cardamom, baking spice, hazelnut husk and star anise. On the palate rich flavors of five spice, hazelnut and cedar provide support for more dominant notes of sour red plum, sweet-pickled crabapple, raspberry and whortleberry,  which combine to deftly suppress a firming spine of polished tannin. The finish is complex, palate coating and structured for cellaring, and a rich note of orange peel tea comes in at the end. With possibly three years of development ahead, it may well reward some cellar time. 200 cases produced.
