Elegant, focused, slightly floral and just a hint gutsy, the nose of this Cabernet focuses on red currant, raspberry licorice, sour red cherry, red rose, clove, licorice root, baking spice and an emerging note of pipe tobacco. It proves medium-bodied yet surprisingly gutsy on the palate, where cherry pit, cinnamon stick and vanilla flavors enhance the same red fruit medley that is promised in the aromas. The finish lingers well, as sweet-natured fruit dried herb and licorice root flavors join to counterpoint a firming strain of tannic grip. Built for grilled steaks and the like, it should mellow nicely over the next eighteen months and beyond. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 130 cases produced.
