2023 Fulcrum Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard, Anderson Valley
SF Wine Panel Score 95+ Points
Big, youthful and already intense, this brilliant Pinot Noir opens with a focused mix of dark cherry, dried Michigan cherry, black cherry, whortleberry, cranberry, sweet tobacco, mace, Campari and cherry pit scents. On the palate it proves gutsy-rich in body, with plush, deeply etched flavors, sturdy tannins, great length and fine focus. The finishing flavor push layers it’s core of cranberry, whortleberry and Bing cherry above supporting notes of baking spice, cedar, mace and coffee toffee. There are also vivid mineral undercurrents and there is ample tannic grip. Possibly four years or more from it’s full expression, it may well be a great wine in the making…and it may prove long-lived. 224 cases produced.
