This is yet another outstanding Machado from BC. The nose is dense, concentrated and focused, with aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, black raspberry, cherry pit, mace, toffee, and a hint of tobacco leaf. Firm black cherry, star anise, black raspberry, black tea leaf, licorice root, toffee, mace and baking spice flavors all find harmony on the palate, where appropriate zest and graceful yet gutsy tannins bring structure to very youthful fruit and to a super-lingering finish where dark cherry and cherry pit flavors dominate. Delicious now, it will be vastly more so in two or three years. 800 cases produced.
